The North-East Trinidad District Welcomes Rev. Shelford Smith & Family to the Mt Hope Pentecostal Assembly!
On Sunday, September 29, 2024, Rev. Shelford Smith was installed as Pastor of the Mt Hope Pentecostal Assembly. He received his early Christian spiritual formation and training at Diego Martin Pentecostal Church. He surrendered his life to Christ at the age of eleven (11) and at fourteen (14) received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial physical evidence of speaking in tongues.
This Christian young man served as a Christian Education Teacher in Vacation Bible School. He was actively involved in the Men’s Ministry, and hospital visitation, served communion to shut-ins, and enjoyed attending and participating in open-air outreaches. He studied at Trinity College and later qualified and graduated from the West Indies School of Theology and other tertiary institutions.
Throughout his ministerial journey, Rev. Smith has served as a Pastor of four (4) assemblies and a Minister of Music. These areas of the ministry involved significant leadership roles, training leaders, and community involvements not only with the church but also with the Ministry of Agriculture, Land, and Fisheries serving from the St. Augustine Nurseries, Curepe.
Rev. Smith exemplifies sound Christian principles. He is a balanced and well-adjusted individual, respectful of authority, works well with others, displays good judgment, and loves to take initiative. He is gifted in the areas of teaching the Word and Music and is committed to using his gifts, talents, and abilities for the honor and glory of God.
Rev. Smith is married to Collette for twenty-nine (29) years. They are proud parents of their daughter, Sydney. Together, they have committed to serving God in His kingdom with integrity and transparency.
