The philosophy of the WIST Extension Division is to provide sound theological education in as many Pentecostal Churches as possible so that lay leadership can be trained to perform their responsibilities efficiently. To accomplish this vision, the Extension School equips students with sound biblical knowledge in the areas of Theology, Bible Surveys, Evangelism, Counselling, Christian Education and Biblical Leadership.

The West Indies School of Theology (WIST) is an independent Christian learning center under the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies (PAWI).
The objective of WIST is to offer sound biblical training so that you may acquire the knowledge and be able to develop the skills necessary to equip you to engage in Ministry. WIST is dedicated to high ethical and moral values in keeping with good Christian principles. Students applying to WIST should understand that enrolment is granted to those who desire to actively support the aims and values of the institution. The WIST handbook spells out
regulations by which it is governed. It is our firm belief, that Scripture demands appropriate response in Christian service.
This service becomes the application of the theological concepts theorized in the classroom. Within the broad confines of the church, the Christian worker relates truth through evangelism, worship, preaching, teaching, counseling and general service to both God and man.
The Rev. Dr. Turnel Joshua Nelson Scholarship Fund
In January 2007, incoming General Bishop Rev. Dr. Pat Glasgow announced that the General Executive had just agreed to the establishment of the Turnel Joshua Nelson Scholarship Fund, in honour of the former General Bishop who had passed away in late 2006. As Bishop Glasgow then said, “the beneficiaries of this fund will be individuals who have a definite call to evangelism and world missions to be trained at WIST and other institutions. The fund will be supported by credential workers giving a minimum of $100 annually. Other persons can contribute to this fund.” It was agreed that his passion for souls was outstanding and it should live on. His vision, drive and calling have impacted our world.
